Everything I know I'll share w/you about SmakDaddy, a hot new up and coming band, based in Alexandria, La. And I have the "inside scoop", so if you're a fan be sure to book mark this page and visit frequently, and enjoy! I have known Jake Lee since before there was a SmakDaddy! I met Steve "Smak" Barrell shortly after the union of SmakDaddy. Besides just plain loving these two for the people who they are, I have been a huge fan of the band since the first time I heard one of their songs. I have always been into 80's rock, as far as I am concerned there has never been music that compares and never will be. With SmakDaddy you can feel that 80's rock is still alive, and kickin' some serious ass!
I've heard Steve be compared to Eric Clapton, and Jake, in my personal opinion has the sound of Don Dokken/ Alice Cooper/Pink Floyd, all rolled into one and a guitar sound like George Lynch, mixed w/ his own unique style.
Everything about this band is great, but I am especially fond of the lead guitar. When you can close your eyes, and completely lose yourself in the sound of it, you KNOW it is damn good.
John (Big Johnny B)Barrell, has lone musical endeavors, which lets him bring his unique experience to the band, experience which covers 20 years in music. His influences are E.L.O., Sabbath, and even Harry Connick Jr. As well as being Steve's big brother, which we know must have been an experience in itself!
